Bandar Sunway, Friday 18 May 2012 KYB-UMW Malaysia Sdn Bhd (KYB-UMW), the leading manufacturer of automotive and motorcycles shock absorbers in Malaysia, today officially launched its Caring and Sharing programme as part of its CSR initiative and to kick-start its 30 year presence in the Malaysian market.
KYB-UMW Malaysia Sdn Bhd (KYB-UMW) which was set up in June 1983 as Kayaba (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, is a specialist in manufacturing high-quality shock absorbers. Meanwhile, KYB-UMW Steering Malaysia Sdn Bhd - formerly known as Kayaba Hydraulics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd - was incorporated in 1996 and is a 100%-owned subsidiary that manufactures hydraulic power-steering pumps and systems.
Through the strong bilateral relationship and cooperation between KYB-UMW and Japans KYB Corporation, the KYB-UMW Group is currently exporting to 19 countries worldwide.
Back in 2007, KYB-UMWs replacement market business, known as KYB Business, in cooperation with 11 of its partners had set a vision to achieve nationwide sales of 1 million pieces of shock absorbers. We have always been very close to achieving this vision, said its Managing Director, Mr Makoto Kimura. He added that the company is confident of achieving this target in 2012 and would like to take this opportunity to thank its customers for their loyal support throughout the years.
Under the Caring & Sharing programme, KYB-UMW will donate 10 sen for each shock absorber sold under the KYB Business segment from 1 January 2012 until 31 December 2012 to the Budimas Charitable Foundation and other deserving charitable organisations. We are appealing for greater support and cooperation this year, in order to realise a bigger amount available for the chosen charity organisations, said Mr Kimura.
