?NEW OWNERS OF THE FORMER DAYS INN?PAY PAST DEBT TO THE CITY OF ARCATA IN FULL?

This is an update on the former Days Inn Hotel located at 4975 Valley West Boulevard in Arcata. The hotel has remained closed since January of 2011 when municipal water service was disconnected by the City of Arcata due to nonpayment for service.

The property has new owners who are currently being represented by Matt Babich of Humboldt Property Management (944 H Street Arcata (707) 825-1501).

The new owners have remitted to the City of Arcata in excess of $179,000, which pays in full all delinquent transient occupancy taxes (TOT), utilities charges, and garbage charges that have remained in arrears since 2008 by the former owners, San Jose Based Penta Arcata LLC ? also known as Silver Creek Hospitality.

City Manager Randy Mendosa stated, ?It?s a huge relief to recover these funds that have long been owed to the City of Arcata. We are extremely thankful to Matt Babich of Humboldt Property Management for working with the new owners to facilitate the repayment.?
