Child-Friendly Walks in Sydney ? Three Ideas For Your Family ...

Post image for Child-Friendly Walks in Sydney ? Three Ideas For Your FamilyGuest Post by Larissa Mane

When they?re in the house, they?re bored. When they?re outdoors, they?re bored. But when they find something fun, you never hear the end of it. Kids are a tough crowd to entertain sometimes, and that?s especially true when you want to squeeze in some quality time with the bubs and get some exercise at the same time.

If you?re stuck, walking is a great way to take advantage of the beautiful landscapes Sydney has to offer ? plus, there are plenty of fun things for kids to do along the way!

Bondi Beach to Tamarama Beach

By far one of the most entertaining walks for kids in Sydney has to be the Bondi to Tamarama Beach walk during ?Sculpture by the Sea? week. The exhibition showcases over 100 breath taking and eye-opening sculptures littered across the 2 km walk by artists from Australia as well as across the globe. But be warned ? kids will be so excited to reach the next sculpture that your leisurely walk could very quickly turn into fast paced jog! Some sculptures are even touch and climb friendly making it a sure winner for children! The walk also includes a ?Tactile Tour? option enabling children with visual impairment and/or intellectual disabilities to enjoy the art as well.

Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens

The Royal Botanic Garden

There is just so much to see in the Royal Botanic Gardens that the only difficult decision you?ll have to make is where to begin. As you meander through the majestic oak trees, let the kids be blown away by the slippery eels in the many lakes and creeks in the park as well as a few blue tongue lizards who call the Gardens home.

And what could possibly be better than walking? Why, learning and walking, of course! The Royal Botanic Gardens hold free guided tours at 10.30 am and 1 pm Mondays to Fridays between March ? November.

Sydney Olympic Park

With its walking trails, flying foxes, bike hire, sculptures and fountains, Sydney Olympic Park is a good training ground for anyone trying to be more active. But the park is also a mecca for biodiversity ? which means you are almost certainly likely to come face-to-face with some of the frogs, bats, birds and reptiles that call the park home. And what?s more, in certain specially marked areas, you can also bring your dog (so long as you keep it on a leash) ? so now every member of the family has the chance to stay fit and lose weight!

Check out all the activities for children at Kids In The Park.
